Keeps kids entertained while adults finish eating. I found that dry erase markers work better than washable markers. The washable markers rub off on the kids. I haven't tried the markers that modern twist sells.

Got this for my 2 yr old and it helps to stay occupied while sitting down to meals with family. The markers wash very easily off of most surfaces which is great.

This is such a fun line of placemats for kids! We have the Day at the Pond and Alphabet Animals designs and my 17-month-old son loves them both. He likes to point at all of the images and listen to mommy and daddy describe them, then repeat the words back to us. I imagine he'll also enjoy coloring them with the markers once he's old enough :) I love that they made without harmful plasticizers/other chemicals. The only downside is that they will stain if you leave food sitting on them for too long.
